Refund policy

At Dogou, we carefully select each item in Japan. If a product does not suit you, our return policy is simple and fair.

1 – Return period

• All European customers have 14 calendar days from receipt of their order to exercise their right of withdrawal, without giving any reason.
• Beyond this legal right, you may return an item up to 30 days after receipt (this 30-day period includes the 14-day withdrawal period).
• To benefit from this 30-day commercial period, the item must:
  • be unused, unwashed and in perfect condition,
  • be returned in its original packaging (or equivalent sturdy packaging),
  • be accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or invoice).

2 – How to return an item

Send an email to leonard@dogou.fr with:

• your name,
• your order number,
• the reason for the return (optional within the 14-day legal period).

We will reply with:

• detailed return instructions,
• the return address:

Return costs:

• paid by the customer for a voluntary return,
• covered by Dogou if the product is defective, damaged or if we made a mistake.

Please let us know by email before sending anything, so we can process your return quickly.

3 – Special cases

• Discounted items benefit from the 14-day legal right of withdrawal, but not from the 30-day commercial extension.
• Gift cards cannot be returned or refunded.
• An item used or washed beyond what is necessary to examine it may be subject to a deduction corresponding to its loss of value.

4 – Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different product, you can:

1. return the item following the procedure above,
2. place a new order.

5 – Right of withdrawal (EU)

In accordance with the French Consumer Code (article L221-18), you have 14 days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal, without giving any reason and without penalty, except for return costs. You may examine the item as you would in a shop. It must be returned complete, with its packaging and proof of purchase, no later than 14 days after informing us of your decision.

6 – Refunds

• As soon as we receive your return, we will confirm the outcome by email.
• In case of withdrawal, we refund the price of the item and the original shipping costs (based on the standard rate) no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision. We may wait until we have received the item, or proof that it has been sent, before refunding.
• Refunds are made using the same payment method as the original order.
